G'day!
That never gets old!
Holy Cow Holy Cow Holy Cow!
I am 18 days away from racing and only need $700 to have the whole trip covered! Then it all goes to Art of Elysium and Challenged Athlete Fund. Everyone who has donated so far has been INCREADIBLE! Thank you for everything so far!
Updates will be coming fast and furious as the race gets closer (like how to follow the race online, see pictures of this grand adventure, answer to the age old question: do the toilettes flush the other way... you know the good stuff)
Other than getting ready for the trip portion... training is going well! I had a "rehearsal" race in San Diego on Sunday where I placed 1st for my age group and 5th woman overall! It was the Surftown Triathlon, a very fun race and a little confidence boost before i'm off to OZ!
all right everyone! i'm sending you all love and sunshine!!! can't you feel it!?!

PAY PAL LINK

Hello my wonderful friends! Below is the link to my paypal account. You can use it to donate, if you'd like!

Now, I'm old fashioned, and my perferred way to recieve donations would be a check in the mail. (Then I can make copies and file it all away oh so neatly... Also I adore getting mail and writing back... ) But, I get it, this is faster and easier, so either way will make me happy!
If you do send anything, let me know so I can check my mail box or paypal every .2 seconds until its confirmed! ha ha!

And of course... THANK YOU!!! xoxoxox

About Me

Brittaney Talbot is a 2009 Honors Graduate from the University of Connecticut, where she received a BFA in Acting and Puppetry. Yes, Puppetry. She is not yet entirely sure “what she’s going to do with it,” but you are welcome to ask.
A long time swimmer and athlete, Brittaney was a member of her high school’s cross country and track team as well as her town swim team. It wasn’t until her freshman year in college that she discovered triathlon and began to race every summer since. She has placed first in several races, including the Sharon’s Back Triathlon (2008) and Hockomock League Triathlon (2008), both in the Boston Metro area. On the west coast, she placed in the top ten in the Danskin Women’s Triathlon in 2008 and overall female first in the Ladera Ranch 10k in 2009.
In addition to holding a BFA, she also is certified in AFAA Group Fitness, Kickboxing, “Practical Pilates,” and Spinning. Using these certifications, she taught for four years with BodyWise, UConn’s Student Recreational fitness team, where she was awarded Instructor of the Year in 2009.
Brittaney enjoys coaching because admires those who are willing to leave their comfort zone and try something new. Her favorite times as an instructor and coach are the moments when a student or participant learns that he or she can go beyond even their own expectations and achieve a goal.
Perhaps her greatest accomplishment to date is being called “Mini Martha!”
If she had to choose, she would say Kermit over Ms. Piggy, chocolate over vanilla, Jefferson Airplane over Starship, and is a firm believer in sunscreen, karma, and the Oxford comma.
P.S. She LOVES her Boston Red Sox!

And a big hello to you too!

Stop the world! I want to get on!
Greetings! My name is Brittaney Talbot and this is my Triathlon Blog!
Over the next couple of weeks I will be hardcore updating as I prepare to travel to Australia to compete in the 2009 ITU TRIATHLON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! I can hardly believe I will be going but I am absolutely ecstatic and beyond proud to represent the United States 20-24 age group!
This blog will be devoted to following my training and funny things that happen along the way, but it also a space for other athlete and triathletes to connect with me and others. Also, this is a space for my sponsors to get great exposure!
So here I go on this grand adventure and you are welcome to join me...
